Cookies & Local Storage
As a native Android application, SERVIT does not use browser cookies. However, we do use local device storage and session tokens to maintain your app experience.
What we store locally on your device
- Authentication Tokens: Secure session tokens are stored locally to keep you signed in without requiring a password each time.
- User Preferences: App settings and preferences you have configured, such as notification preferences and display settings.
- Cache Data: Temporary data to improve loading speed and reduce repeated data requests.
How to clear local data
You can clear all locally stored data by clearing the app's cache and data through your Android device settings, or by logging out and uninstalling the app.
Secure Cloud Infrastructure
All user data collected by SERVIT is stored and managed using secure cloud infrastructure provided by trusted, industry-leading cloud service providers.
Our cloud storage approach
- User data is stored in a secure cloud database with strict access controls.
- Databases are configured with role-based access — only authorized systems and personnel can access stored data.
- Data is replicated across secure data centers to ensure reliability and prevent data loss.
- Regular security audits and configuration reviews are performed to identify and resolve vulnerabilities.
Authentication
SERVIT uses trusted, secure authentication services to manage user sign-in and account access.
How authentication works
- You can sign in using your email and password, or via OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your phone number.
- Authentication tokens are generated upon successful login and stored securely on your device.
- Tokens expire after a defined period of inactivity to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
What our authentication service does
- Verifies your identity securely during the sign-in process.
- Manages secure session handling so you stay signed in safely.
- Supports account recovery through verified email or phone number.
What we do not store
We do not store your plain-text password on our servers. Passwords are handled using industry-standard hashing and are never visible to SERVIT staff.
Payments
When payment features are enabled in SERVIT, all financial transactions are processed through trusted, certified payment gateway providers that comply with the highest security standards in the industry.
What SERVIT does
- Initiates a secure payment session through our trusted payment provider (such as Razorpay, where applicable).
- Records only the payment status (success, failure, pending) associated with your booking.
- Stores only non-sensitive payment metadata such as transaction IDs and booking-linked payment status.
Our payment partners maintain compliance with applicable financial security standards to ensure your financial data is protected at all times. Transactions are carried out over fully encrypted secure connections.
Third Party Services
SERVIT integrates a limited set of trusted third-party services that are essential for delivering the app's core functionality.
Data Security
Protecting your personal information is a top priority for SERVIT. We implement multiple layers of security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your data.
Security measures we implement
- Encrypted Data Transmission: All communication between the SERVIT app and our servers uses encrypted protocols.
- Encrypted Storage: User data stored in our cloud database is protected using encryption at rest.
- Access Controls: Strict role-based access controls ensure only authorized systems and personnel can access user data.
- Secure Authentication: User accounts are protected by secure session management, token expiry, and OTP-based verification.
- Monitoring: We monitor our systems for unusual activity, potential breaches, and security anomalies on an ongoing basis.
- Regular Reviews: Our security configurations and practices are reviewed regularly to align with current best practices.
Encryption
SERVIT uses encryption as a foundational security measure to protect your data both when it is being transmitted and when it is stored.
Data in Transit
All data exchanged between the SERVIT Android app and our cloud servers is transmitted over encrypted, secure communication channels. This ensures your personal information cannot be intercepted or read by unauthorized parties during transmission.
Data at Rest
Personal information stored in our cloud database is protected using encryption at rest. Even if storage media were to be accessed physically, the data would remain protected and unreadable without the appropriate decryption keys.
Passwords
User passwords are never stored in plain text. They are processed using secure one-way hashing algorithms before storage, ensuring your password is never visible to anyone, including SERVIT staff.
Account Security
Your SERVIT account security is a shared responsibility. We provide robust tools and protections; here is what you can do to keep your account safe:
- Use a strong, unique password that is not used on other services.
- Do not share your account credentials, OTP codes, or session tokens with anyone.
- Log out of your account when using a shared or public device.
- Keep your registered phone number and email address up to date for account recovery.
- Contact us immediately if you notice any suspicious activity on your account.
Login Activity Monitoring
We record your login activity — including the date, time, and device associated with each login — to help you identify and respond to any unauthorized access to your account.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as it is necessary to provide you with SERVIT services, or as required by applicable law.
Active Account
While your SERVIT account is active, we retain all information associated with it to deliver a complete and continuous service experience.
After Account Deletion
When you delete your account, we begin the process of permanently removing your personal data from our active systems. Certain anonymized or aggregated data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained for analytical and platform improvement purposes.
Legal & Compliance Retention
Some data may be retained for a limited period after account deletion where required by law — for example, financial transaction records may need to be retained as mandated by applicable tax or financial regulations.
Crash Logs & Technical Data
Crash logs and technical diagnostic data are typically retained for a short period (usually 30 to 90 days) and then deleted automatically.
Data Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your SERVIT account and all associated personal data. We take this right seriously and provide a clear process for exercising it.
How to request deletion
- Navigate to Account Settings within the SERVIT app and select "Delete Account".
- Alternatively, send an email request to servitcare@gmail.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from your registered email address.
What happens after deletion
- Your account will be deactivated immediately and you will no longer be able to log in.
- Your personal information will be permanently deleted from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe.
- Any anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be attributed to you may be retained for analytical purposes.
- Data that must be retained for legal or regulatory compliance will be kept only for the minimum required period.
User Rights
As a SERVIT user, you have important rights over your personal information. We are committed to honoring these rights:
How to exercise your rights
To exercise any of the above rights, you may use the account management features within the SERVIT app, or contact us directly at servitcare@gmail.com with a clear description of your request. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and will not charge a fee under normal circumstances.
Children's Privacy
SERVIT is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at servitcare@gmail.com. We will take prompt steps to delete such information from our systems.
International Data Transfers
SERVIT is operated from India and primarily serves users within India. Your personal information is collected and processed in accordance with Indian data protection laws and applicable regulations.
Our cloud infrastructure providers may store and process data in data centers located in India or other countries. When data is transferred or processed outside of India, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal information.
Safeguards for international transfers
- We use only trusted cloud infrastructure providers who maintain internationally recognized security certifications.
- Data processing agreements are in place with our service providers requiring them to protect your data to the same standard as we do.
- All data transfers are conducted over encrypted connections.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new features, legal requirements, or other operational reasons.
How we notify you
- If we make significant changes, we will notify you through a prominent notice within the SERVIT app or via your registered email address.
- The updated policy will always be accessible within the app under "Privacy Policy" in the settings or help section.
